PicklePlay Base is a premium 100% acrylic pickleball court coating
designed for professional contractors, maintenance crews, and DIY court
resurfacing projects. This neutral ready-mix court coating contains the
proper blend of graded silica sand and water, eliminating the need to measure and add sand or water at the job site.
Simply add the required TCS Tint,
mix thoroughly, and apply. The result is a durable, uniform,
slip-resistant acrylic playing surface with professional-quality color
and texture.

Mixing PicklePlay Base With TCS Tint
TCS Tint is a premium water-based liquid pigment dispersion specifically formulated for use with PicklePlay Base and TCS Court Color Base. TCS Tint provides rich, consistent color while maintaining the performance and texture of the acrylic court coating.
TCS Tint must be added to every bucket of PicklePlay Base.
Mixing Instructions
Before opening, shake the TCS Tint container thoroughly to fully disperse the pigments. Properly shaking the tint is essential for consistent court color.
Pour the entire required container of TCS Tint into the corresponding bucket of PicklePlay Base.
Using a mechanical drill and paddle
mixer at low speed, mix thoroughly until the coating has a smooth,
completely uniform color with no visible streaks or unmixed pigment.
Do not add additional water to PicklePlay Base. The correct amount of water and graded silica sand is already incorporated into the ready-mix formula.

Maintaining Color Consistency
Mix every bucket using the same
procedure and mixing time. When possible, use material and tint from the
same production batch throughout the project.
Periodically re-mix PicklePlay Base during application to help keep the pigment and silica sand evenly dispersed.
Pro Tip:
Always shake each container of TCS Tint immediately before adding it to
PicklePlay Base. Consistent tint preparation and mechanical mixing are
critical when coating large court areas where even minor color
variations may be noticeable.
Application
Once the TCS Tint has been completely incorporated, PicklePlay Base is ready for application.
Apply using a 36-inch soft rubber sport squeegee
following standard acrylic sport court surfacing procedures. A 50–60
durometer rubber blade is recommended for consistent application.
Apply 2 coats, allowing the first coat to dry completely before applying the second.
Coverage is approximately 95 sq. ft. per gallon, although actual coverage can vary depending on surface texture, porosity, condition, and application technique.
For best results, avoid applying
acrylic coatings to excessively hot pavement, as high surface
temperatures can cause rapid drying, poor material flow, and visible
streaking.
